Man Who Duct Taped and Dumped Dog Sentenced
Fort Edward — The man who duct taped and dumped a dog on the side of a Washington County roadway was sentenced Friday afternoon.
52-year-old Shane Morehouse of Fort Edward was sentenced to 30-days in jail and 3-years probation after he pled guilty to animal cruelty and abandonment.
Morehouse took his friend’s dog, Chubby; duct taped its feet together, and left it on the side of an Argyle roadway in February.
Morehouse will also have to pay more than $1,700 in fines and will not be allowed to have an animal during his probation.
The dog’s owner Louis Hart was in the courtroom and asked to give a victim impact statement. However Judge Keegan denied that request because Hart will also be sentenced for his role in the abuse on September 3rd.
