Bar Closing Time Change Sent to County
Saratoga Springs — The City Council has voted to send a resolution to the county asking them to change the bar closing time to 3am.
The move comes after the state ruled a change in bar closing times would have to be approved at the county level. The measure passed by a 3 to 1 vote, the Mayor abstained because he owns a stake in a local bar.
It’s unclear when the county will address the matter. Bars currently close at 4am, but public safety commissioner Christian Mathiesen has been trying to change that because of what he calls a drain on police resources.
